Sir Charles

Charles Barkley CB 94 2021 I bought these shoes a few months back late last year for retail price of $140. I never owned a pair of older basketball players and Charles Barkley is one of my favorites. I was immediately attracted with bulkiness of the show and how vintage it looks. The shoe first came out in 1994 but since has updated the quality of it, sure its bulky and a heavy shoe but that was the thing back in the 90s. I tried to get the one CB 94s that came out early this year, but they quickly sold out and I didn't hit my luck but I'm very pleased with the shoe as its going up in value and I scored on the cheap price. Times like these I wish they would release some more of the older shoes from other basketball players from the 90s, I'm sure they would sell just ask quick, just like the Penny's and Jordan's do.  Estimated price $230

The Original Melo

(Do not own right to this photo) I was never a huge fan of Carmelo Anthony's signature shoes but he's one of the greatest basketball players of all time and I feel like I should talk about his background in his signature shoes. Carmelo was one of the first athletes to sign under the Jordan brand and had his own line of Melo/Jordan shoes. I never bought any of Carmelo shoes growing up because I was too into Jordan retros that I felt like if I bought Carmelo shoes that it would look like a team Jordan shoe, and I didn't want that. At the time I was really serious about that but now that I look back, Melo had some pretty good signature shoes worth buying and collecting because now they are worth big bucks, and even though he's still in the league still playing Jordan Brand cut him off in 2017 discontinuing the Carmelo signature line. I hate that they did that to him, I guess the Jordan Brand saw his prime declining and felt it was best to move on f...

Stompin In My Air Force 1s

(Do not own right to this photo) I know that the Nike Air Force 1s are not the basketball type of shoe but since it's my most bought shoe I thought I'd talk about them a little bit. The Nike Air Force 1s were not supposed to be calls the Air Force 1s but the creator of them compared them to the Air Force 1s plane that flies the President everywhere and that's where the name eventually came from. The shoe debuted in 1982 and discontinued in 1984 then brought back in the market in 1986. This shoe has over 1700 different types of styles and brings in over $800 million in revenue each year. AF-1 are very popular in pop-culture and have been for many years and even have a song named after them by Nelly. I have bought maybe 20 pairs of Af-1s since 2007-Present. They are my comfort and dress shoes when I don't want to wear sandals or boots.       (Do not own right to this photo) Estimated price of AF-1s is $180

The Black Mamba Pt. II

(Do not own right to this photo) In 2008 Nike debuted the Nike Hyperdunks which famously worn by the Bean himself, Kobe Bryant. This was one shoe that Kobe pushed but was never signatured as his. In my freshman year in high school this was the shoe for every team, and I mean everyone that played basketball had a pair of Nike Hyperdunks. There was a huge commercial with Kobe Bryant jumping over an Ashton Martin as it drives by him, making him look invincible. In my eyes Kobe wore this shoe more than any other player even though he had his line of signature shoes which I think that they could have made his own signature line of Hyperdunks but instead Nike only made a color way for his team's colors and the Kobe logo on the tongue. I bought the exact same pair that he jumped over the Ashton Martin with just to say I have them, my mom also bought me a color way for my school color and in my opinion probably my most favorite shoe I wore that was...

Nike Dunk

In 1985 the Nike Dunk was invented; it was designed by the same person who designed the Jordan 1. The Nike Dunk was basketball shoe for college players and began to transform in the 90's, 00's, and even now 20's. I brought up these shoes because they are beginning to trend, and I came across a Sneakerhead a few months back who was trying to sell me a pair of Nike Dunk Syracuse for $380. Nike has recently launched dozens of Dunks in the past year, and you would think that the high-tops would be more expensive but this new era of shoe, the low tops are its biggest sellers. I'm a fan of the high tops but to each their own. I just wanted to talk a little about the Dunks and how far they have come in Nike history and the evolution of its purpose of wearing for style instead of play.       (Do not own right to this photo) Estimated price for Dunks is $220-$550 in size 11

VC 2

(Do not own right to this photo) Some to most agree the Vince Carter is one of the greatest if not the greatest dunker of all time. During my early years of idolizing athletes Vince Carter next to Emmitt Smith and Kobe was my idol in basketball. I wanted to jump as high as him, I wanted to be as confident as him when he won the 2000 dunk contest and told the camera "It's over" after his infamous off the bounce, in between the leg dunk which scored him a 50 and won the dunk contest. I remember being a Champs Sports at the mall and asking my mom to buy me his VC 2s and the rest is history with my shoe collection.       (Do not own right to this photo) Nike Shox VC 2 estimated at $350

The Man from Memphis

(Do not own right to this photo) In 1995 Nike debuted Penny Hardaway's first signature shoe, Air Max Penny 1s "Orlando".  Such a promising basketball player in the mid 90s due to the run he had beating Michael Jordan in the Chicago Bulls and moving on facing Hakeem Olajuwon and defending champions the Houston Rockets. Although the Rockets ended beating the young Orlando Magics there was a bright future in the brand new franchise with their tremendous duo in Shaq and Penny. Nike went on that same year and debuted Penny's first shoe and made three more signature shoes with it. Penny would go on and become injury prone and would have a lot of success with the departure on Shaq but still in the years of Penny's 1-4 would still be a famous buy in the 2000's. I own a pair of Penny 1 and 4 along with some Foamposites which Penny made famous and are still a high priced pair of shoes.      (Do not own right to this photo) Air Max Penn...

2006 Nike Air Max 180 Basketball Shoes

(Do not own right to this photo) The long-lost delicacy from 2006 I remember being in 7th grade and these bad boys debuted, they were thee shoe to play basketball in. I remember showing up to my tryouts in middle school and all the guys had these on. I felt dumb because I was the only one without them, it didn't matter how good I was, all that mattered is that I didn't fit with the guys on the A-team without buying the Nike Air Max 180s in black. Once I got these I felt untouchable on the court, they were my most prized possession during that season of basketball. I look back and think how in the hell did I play in these, of course now with all the great shoes that have came after this one. I loved these shoes so much that I saved my lunch money and asked my grandparents for money each week to get a second pair. It's hard to explain to the kids I coach now which are 7th graders how much these shows were worth to us and they laugh because they have KD's...

Checkmate for the Checkmark

Better than the rest...  (Do not own right to this photo) Nike is well known around the world and if anyone knows that Nike runs the world of basketball. From the material to the design each and every Nike basketball shoe is unique to fit every basketball player's need for healthy feet on the floor. Nike Gross profit income increases each year minus the year of covid (2020). Nike will prevail as long as they have top tier athletes and top tier programs represent the checkmark.   (Do not own right to this photo)

KD1

easymoneysniper  (Do not own right to this photo) MVP 2X NBA CHAMP 2X FINALS MVP Kevin Durant AKA Slim Reaper AKA KD signed his first Nike contract in 2007 after being drafted second next to Greg Oden, Nike saw big promise in the University of Texas Longhorn and signed him to 7 years then in 2014 signed another contract in 2014 for 10 years $300 million. Nike and Durant now have 14 shoes under the KD name.   (Do not own right to this photo) KD1   2 years after signing his first contract, Nike came out with the KD1s, this came in the color of his new team that moved from Seattle Supersonics to Oklahoma City Thunder. The shoe molded into KD's favorite shoes which where the Huarache 2k4 shoe. The retail price for his first shoe was $88 to make affordable for all kids to wear. This would start the legacy of KDs shoe brand.   (Do not own right to this photo) Nike Huarache 2k4       Average price for KD1 go from $400-$1,800
